Fuel Efficient Technologies for Car Transporters
Auto shipping professionals conducting car transport on the streets and highways of the United States of America looking for a few new fuel-efficient innovations to reduce the carbon wheel-print of their car shipping service have a few new devices to help. Utility Side Skirts are aerodynamic enhancers that use galvanized steel suppots and UV-protected fiberglass-reinforced plastic panels that are made out of materials that resist corrosion and are flexible enough to last on the road. According to the company Utility Side Skirts are CARB-compliant for Californias' car transporters, but you should probably verify this with CARB, and are certified for use by the United States Environmental Protection Agency's voluntary SmartWay program. Silver Eagle Manufacturing's new Aero Saber trailer side skirts are now available to help car movers in the United States reduce their fuel costs. Aero Saver trailer side skirts have shown the ability to reduce fuel costs by as much as 5.7 percent at highways speeds in TMC-SAE Type 2 testing, according to the firm. They also have aluminum skins and steel braces and an 18-inch clearance, which includes about 16 inches of flexible rubber, so the skirts pass undamaged over roadway obstructions like snow piles and railroad crossings. A former head of the United States Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay program has been busy and has just released a new product into the market place designed to reduce the drag experienced by vehicle transports as they travel down the highway. A trailer UnderTray system, SmartTruck's UT-6 is designed to minimize the drag associated with trailer underside components and includes wheel and suspension fairings, a rear fairing and aero rain gutters. The UT-6 works by compressing and accelerating incoming air flow and injecting high energy air into the trailer wake, which pulls the air flow from the top of the trailer down into the wake of the trailer. Sources indicate that this device has produced about a 12 percent reduction in total drag and tests show that it can improve fuel efficiency by as much as 6.78 percent, during normal operations, according to sources.
Transport Vehicles to Charm Car Transporters
Car transport professionals on hand for the recently held Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky and The Work Truck Show in St. Louis that love trucks of all kinds, including the freight trucking units being made and shown in the United States of America, got all they wanted. Auto shipping professionals on hand got to take a look at the newest ideas, like powered steerable axles for chip trailers transporting bulk freight down the twisting trails of Washington's Olympic Peninsula. Car transporters on hand also got to take a look at Ridewell's 'Force Steer' Axles, which allow long box trailers to go where more maneuverable log racks travel, like rough dirt roads. Mac Trailer also showed up for the shows to impress car shipping truck enthusiasts and they were promoting full-stance tandems on end-dump trailers, which keep the wheels of the tandem unit on the ground, while the trailer rises because the body of the trailer pivots on the tandem's subframe. Mac Trailer indicates that this improves the stability of the trailer during tipping, when compared to frameless vehicles, that have forward axles that rise along with the body, and reduces the overall weight of the unit by about 2,000 pounds than a full-frame trailer. Professionals in the business of shipping cars to destination in the United States of America that are also trucking enthusiasts that love to take a look at the latest units might want to show up for next year's Mid-America Trucking Show and The Work Truck Show. Drop by next year and take a look at what the trucking manufacturers of the world will be showing and you won't be disappointed.
The Car Transport Bridges of America
Car transport drivers who have noticed all the road construction work happening on the roads, streets and highways of the United States of America will be glad to hear that a recent study by the United States Government Accountability Office indicates that more money needs to be invested in the Federal Highway Bridge Program in the days ahead in the century of the environment. The US Government Accountability Office recently stated that according to their numbers at least one in four bridges in America need to have some form of work done on them in order to keep them in current operational order. Hardly surprising news for car hauling professionals that use the bridges in the United States on a daily basis and one that it appears will be getting a little more attention in the days and months ahead. The United States Government Accountability Office stated that while lots of improvements have been carried out on the bridges of America, work still needs to be done to keep the bridges of America in a condition that makes automobile transport in the United States a lot easier to accomplish in an efficient and reliable manner. The agency also stated that maybe the Government Accountability Office and Highway Bridge Program aren't agreeing on all matters in this affair and that the HBP lacks focus, ways to measure the performance of the system, and isn't fiscally sustainable as the agency moves forward into 2010. Indicating that the money that has been invested has primarily gone toward preventive maintenance and other projects, which could be spent on just about any bridge in America. That the HBP lacks measures to link funding to performance and doesn't use the latest tools, such as bridge management systems, to help improve the system.
